Unique Swedish mushroom farming takes the world by storm

With two patents protecting its cultivation method, the Burträsk-based company Mufutech has developed an automated, sustainable mushroom-growing process that incorporates energy recovery—a technology that has also garnered international attention.

"Many major stakeholders in the US and Europe are now interested in purchasing our technology and visiting our pilot facility at SLU in Umeå, Västerbotten," says Lars Atterhem, founder of Mufutech, speaking to the website Automation.
